Beond sets its sights on Vienna and Düsseldorf

Advertising

The young airline Beond is planning a significant expansion of its route network over the next two years. Instead of the initially announced five new destinations, a total of 18 new destinations in Europe, Asia, and the Middle East will now be added to the flight schedule. This expansion follows a successful first year of business, in which Beond CEO Tero Taskila had already announced a significant expansion of the fleet.

As part of the new route planning, Beond will serve eight European cities in the future. In addition to the existing connections to Milan and Zurich, six new destinations will be added: Düsseldorf and Vienna as new destinations in German-speaking countries, as well as Paris, Rome, and Warsaw. The focus of the expansion, however, is on Asia, where nine new destinations will be added. In addition to Bangkok and Seoul, three Chinese cities – Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou – will be served. India will receive four new connections: Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, and Hyderabad. The Middle East will also be included in the route network with Jeddah, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Abu Dhabi.

All flights will continue to be operated with aircraft from the Airbus A320 family. However, given the planned massive expansion of the route network, it is clear that the current fleet of one Airbus A319 and one A321 will not be sufficient. In the press release, Beond did not provide any specific details on the planned fleet expansion. However, in November of last year, CEO Taskila set the goal of increasing the fleet to 2028 aircraft by 27.

And Munich is probably being ignored?
