Berlin: Every fourth Easyjet flight canceled on Sunday

At Berlin-Brandenburg Airport, the short-term "prank concert" by the low-cost airline Easyjet continued on Sunday. The carrier canceled a total of 16 departures from this airport. Due to the currently high occupancy rate, an enormous number of passengers were again affected.

In most cases, the cause of the cancellations was the acute shortage of staff that Easyjet currently has at the Berlin-Brandenburg base. However, other circumstances also played a role in some flights, because at some airports, for example in the United Kingdom, there is chaos in handling. In Amsterdam-Schiphol they have been massively overloaded all weekend, which is why the competitor KLM even decided on Saturday to not to fly any more European passengers.

The weather, ATC problems in Italy and a lack of staff at various airports also had an unfavorable effect, so that a few Easyjet flights were canceled for this reason or, outside of Berlin, were delayed by hours. However, the "lion's share" is due to the fact that Easyjet has far too few flying personnel at Berlin-Brandenburg Airport, despite extremely good booking figures.

The carrier had planned 65 departures from BER for Sunday. 16 of these had to be canceled without replacement. This means that around every fourth flight from Berlin-Brandenburg was affected. Also on Saturday the orange low-cost airline had to leave many passengers behind at BER or at the other end of the flight route. In social media, those affected are increasingly criticizing what they consider to be inadequate care, because replacement transport can only be obtained via the overloaded call center and only with discussion, because other Easyjet flights are primarily tried, some of which are supposed to take off a few days later , "turn on". Allegedly, nothing can be regulated on site, since the ground handling company is said to refer to the hotline or the app and is supposed to hand out information flyers if necessary.

The following Easyjet flights were not operated from BER on June 5, 2022:

We were supposed to go to Ibiza, the flight was cancelled, a note was handed to us with a phone number.
    and email address.
None was to be awarded. We had a package tour.
Now we want our money back.

In the best case, you will receive an email a few hours before departure. As a rule, after a long delay, the flight will be canceled at some point. Your chance of further promotion is bad if you don't take everything into your own hands and demand it. Nobody comes to you, never! And even then, timely onward transport is a matter of luck. The handling staff is usually not from the airline, but only a cheap, unfortunate service provider, sometimes in the uniform of Easyjet & Co. They have no flights and usually cannot rebook you on other airlines because it is with other companies and Easyjet hardly any contracts. You simply have to be the first to claim one of the 5 free seats on the next flight, if there are any. However, the other 180 passengers also want that. Unfortunately, that's the lot of low-cost airlines. I worked at German airports myself for about 30 years

It's very sad 😢 what's happening here, we're flying to Croatia our return flight was canceled without replacement now we have to go back three days earlier

Apparently Easyjet no longer wants to. It won't be long before Germany's capital no longer has an airport. He's chronically bankrupt anyway.
