The Spanish airline Binter Canaris wants to continue its course of expansion and has placed another order with the Brazilian manufacturer Embraer. This time, six more E195-E2s were ordered, bringing the total backlog to 16 aircraft of this type.
In the previous year, Embraer initially listed an order for five machines as anonymous. There was wild speculation in the industry who could be behind it and shortly afterwards Binter Canaris came out as a customer. The Spanish airline, which mainly specializes in traffic from the Canary Islands, is already an Embraer E195-E2 operator. Aviation.Direct has a detailed portrait of flights with this carrier provided at this link.
Like the existing E195-E2, Binter Canaris wants the newcomers, which are to be delivered from the second half of 2024, to have 132 seats in a single-class configuration. “The E2 is a turning point for Binter. Our guests love the plane, especially how quiet it is. Performance in terms of fuel consumption and maintenance is also better than advertised. As we continue to grow, the E2 has proven to be the perfect aircraft to accompany our continued growth,” said Rodolfo Núñez, President of Binter.
“The best orders are repeat orders and this is Binter's fourth E2 order. Embraer thanks Binter for their partnership and congratulates the airline on its continued success,” added Martyn Holmes, CCO of Embraer Commercial Aviation.
Anonymous order for 15 machines comes from Lessor Azorra
Embraer was also able to announce another success. The leasing company Azorra is behind a recently anonymous order. This has ordered 15 E195-E2, was announced at the Paris Air Show. "Based on our success in placing the E2, we are pleased to increase our firm commitment to Embraer from 20 to 35 aircraft," said Ron Baur, President of Azorra. “Azorra has a longstanding partnership with Embraer and owns and manages a portfolio (including our order book) of more than 100 Embraer E1, E2 and Phenom aircraft, making Azorra one of the largest lessors of Embraer aircraft. We believe the E2's economics combined with its environmentally friendly and quiet engines make the E2 an ideal aircraft for our airline customers."
Martyn Holmes, CCO of Embraer Commercial Aviation: “Azorra has made a huge impact on our market in a short space of time. They are proving to be great partners for Embraer and our airline customers. As the world's leading provider of regional aircraft, Embraer is pleased with the momentum our market is experiencing and thanks Azorra for helping expand the opportunities we see around the world,” said Martyn Holmes, CCO of Embraer Commercial Aviation.
