Birmingham: “New Flybe” has officially launched the first Dash 8-400

The “new Flybe” has now officially adopted the first DHC Dash 8-400. The G-JECX is to be launched next year. The machine was repainted in Maastricht in the new design and has meanwhile been transferred to Birmingham.

It is in this city in the United Kingdom that both the headquarters and the first base of the new Flybe are being built. The G-JECX is leased from Nordic Aviation Capital and has already been used by the old Flybe in the past. They had to file for bankruptcy at the beginning of the corona pandemic.

Behind the “new Flybe” is Cyrus Capital. In the coming year a regional network is to be set up with the Dash 8-400 machine type. A machine previously used by Austrian Airlines was briefly registered as the G-CLXC. This only served as a means to an end to get AOC and an operating license. The aircraft is now flying in Canada with PAL Airlines.
