Since the beginning of the corona pandemic, the shuttle bus service operated by Blaguss Reisen between Vienna-Schwechat Airport and the U3 station Vienna-Erdberg has been suspended. And it will stay that way for longer.
In the meantime, the private bus and travel group has deactivated the airline's homepage and redirected it to the company's own Vienna International Bus Terminal website. There and on the Blaguss page there are no references to the airport shuttle bus. A short-term resumption is currently not planned.
On request, a spokeswoman for Blaguss Reisen told Aviation.Direct: "As long as tourism in Vienna with the international markets of origin, especially from Asia, does not return to a pre-Corona level, a resumption is not planned". This means that Vienna Airport will not be connected to the U3 station Wien-Erdberg or the international bus station in the foreseeable future.
Numerous long-distance buses run daily from Vienna Central Station (Südtiroler Platz) or Erdberg and Vienna-Schwechat Airport. These are international lines that are subject to a transport ban within Austria. In concrete terms, this means that only boarding for transport abroad or disembarking from abroad is permitted.
The Austrian Federal Railways run Railjet trains between Vienna Central Station and the airport several times a day. In addition, high-speed trains and regional express trains run to Rennweg, Wien-Mitte, Praterstern and Floridsdorf, among others. The subsidiary Österreichische Postbus AG operates three bus routes on which the climate ticket is not valid. The network card is also not valid on the City Airport Train, which runs between Wien Mitte train station and Vienna Airport.
