Blue Air takes delivery of the first Boeing 737-Max-8

The Romanian low-cost airline Blue Air took delivery of the first of a total of ten Boeing 30-Max-2021s on April 737, 8. The aircraft were not ordered directly from the manufacturer, but via the Lessor Air Lease Corporation.

In a press release, the company explains that the introduction of this type of machine is now accelerating the renewal of the fleet. Blue Air is gradually phasing out older Boeing 737 Classic vehicles. For example, there are still five B737-500s and one B737-300 in operation. The NG models (one B737-700 and nine B737-800) are to be used for even longer.

The newcomer has the registration YR-MXA and made his way to Bucharest on April 30, 2021. The arrival of this Boeing 737-Max-8 is announced for April 1, 2021. On the way from the company's Seattle airport to the Romanian capital, the aircraft will make a technical stopover in Keflavik (Iceland). Three more Boeing 737-Max-8s are to be taken over this year. The remaining units in the coming year.
