Boeing is getting one step closer to the re-registration of the 737 MAX aircraft.
As previously announced, Steve Dickson, the head of the US aviation authority FAA, made himself a picture and completed a test flight with the crisis jet. The former pilot made a clean landing in Seattle. It is important for him to convince himself of the safety of the machine, how orf.at reported.
"We're on the home straight," said Dickson at the subsequent press conference. The Boeing managers have now cleared an important hurdle towards re-registration. One shouldn't fall into euphoria now, however. The FAA boss emphasizes that a few more steps are necessary before the 737 Max can be put back into operation. Nevertheless: "I liked what I saw."
