The year is drawing to a close. A year that the crisis-ridden Boeing doesn't like to look back on - like the entire industry. But shortly before New Year's Eve, the aircraft manufacturer received encouraging news: US airline Alaska Airlines is buying 23 more Boeing 737 MAXs.

This would increase the airline's bulk order to a total of 68 copies of the crisis pilot, like the news magazine Reuters reported. A real windfall for the ailing Airbus competitor, the latest order brings the equivalent of around 2,42 billion euros into the coffers. Alaska Airlines also secured an option for 15 more Boeing 737 MAXs. The US carrier is setting the course for the time after the pandemic.
