The US aircraft manufacturer Boeing is supposed to push ahead with the reduction of employees. So one tries to offer severance pay in two divisions in order to get the employees to leave the company.

According to Bloomberg, the areas of service and commercial aircraft are primarily affected. The group did not want to comment on the agency's report. In an internal circular it is required that the workforce should take the current demand on the world market into consideration and support the austerity measures. Boeing announced in April 2020 that 16.000 employees were to be cut. Further measures were announced at the end of July 2020. It is currently estimated that 19.000 jobs will be lost. According to Boeing, around 6.000 employees have already left the company. Competitor Airbus also has to cut around 15.000 jobs due to the corona crisis.
