The US aircraft manufacturer Boeing expects the number of commercial aircraft in the Middle East to more than double by 2042. There is a need for 3.025 new machines.

Boeing predicts that there will be around 1.350 widebodies and 1.570 narrowbodies. It is generally assumed that the aviation industry will experience strong growth in this region of the world.

The aircraft manufacturer also announced that it expects that within the next 20 years around 45 percent of all deliveries to the Middle East will be widebodies. These would not only be needed for long-haul flights, but also on short and medium-haul flights due to high demand. ” Many airlines in the region offer flights between major population centers in Asia, Africa and Europe through growing hubs that provide efficient connectivity. As a result, a higher proportion of wide-body aircraft will be required to carry larger volumes of passengers,” said the manufacturer.

When it comes to narrowbodies, the Americans predict that a strong expansion of low-cost carriers could be imminent. It could also be assumed that one or two providers will be founded. The number of narrow-body aircraft in the Middle East would more than double by 2042.

Boeing also sees growth potential in the cargo sector. This is estimated at 180 machines. Of this, two-thirds will contribute to growth in air traffic and cargo, while the remaining third will replace older, less fuel-efficient aircraft.
