On May 4, 2023, the Boeing 787-8, registration CC-BBF, operated by Latam Airlines was damaged at Bogota Airport. There were no passengers on board as the incident occurred during a towing operation at Bogota Airport.

Both the towing vehicle and the Latam Dreamliner will probably not be available for some time due to necessary repairs. During the towing process, the stand came loose for reasons that are still unclear. As a result, the tug got stuck under the CC-BBF and damaged the long-haul aircraft.

Numerous photos and videos showing the damage were published on the social media portal Twitter. These are embedded in this article below. Jadec assumes that Latam Airlines will not be able to use the affected Boeing 787-9 for a long time. Officially, the carrier has only damaged the incident so far, but no information can yet be given on the amount of property damage.
