The diplomatic climate between Serbia and Kosovo is currently very tense. A bomb threat at Pristina airport shortly after 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday morning not only caused a lack of understanding, but local media even suspect that there could be a connection with the most recent statement of support that Moscow issued in the direction of Belgrade.

Of course, there is no objective evidence for the claim, but the timing of the bomb threat is extremely unfavorable. No matter who is really behind it, it causes further disagreements between Serbia and Kosovo. The latter country is not recognized by Belgrade, but is regarded as a kind of renegade province. Tensions have increased massively in recent months, making a bomb threat at Pristina Airport particularly piquant.

The evacuation of the terminal was initiated shortly after 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday. All travelers had to leave the building immediately. Flight operations were temporarily suspended for safety reasons. The executive searched the airport extensively, but fortunately could not find any explosive devices. When asked, a spokeswoman for Pristina Airport said that a bomb threat had been received and that all passengers and employees had been taken to safety as a precaution.

However, it is completely unclear who is behind the threat. Speculations vary widely, but the incident is unlikely to contribute positively to improving the tense situation between Serbia and Kosovo. Police and public prosecutors want to find the free rider and, if necessary, bring him to justice.
