With the 9H-ALE, the Maltese airline Luxwing has delivered the third de Havilland Dash 8-400 in the colors of Skyalps to Bolzano. The machine will be used alongside the 9H-BEL and 9H-EVA for the South Tyrolean airport's own brand.

For many years, the 9H-ALE was in service as OE-LGN "Gmunden" for Tyrolean Airways and later Austrian Airlines. The just under 12-year-old turboprop aircraft was sold to EIC Aircraft Leasing last year and was originally intended to be leased to Camair Co. However, that didn't happen.

The new operating carrier of the former Tyrolean aircraft, which is now entered in the Maltese register, is Luxwing. This flies on behalf of Bozen Airport's own brand, i.e. in the colors of Skyalps. The route network from the South Tyrolean airport has expanded significantly this year. Also leads one from the Slovenian Maribor charter flights through.

A spokesman for Skyalps told Aviation.Direct, among other things, that the 9H-ALE will be used commercially for the first time shortly after Easter. A total of three de Havilland Dash 8-400s will then be used to serve the summer flight schedule.
