On June 15, 2021, the Maltese airline Luxwing will operate the first scheduled flight from Bolzano on behalf of Skyalps. Before that, there were no regular flights from this airport for around six years.

Two DHC Dash 8-400 operated by Luxwing are used under the Skyalps brand. The first line route leads to the Italian capital Rome. On Saturday there is a charter flight from Bolzano to Sardinia city. Other destinations that are gradually being added include Lamezia Terme, Ibiza, Düsseldorf and Berlin.

The offer corresponds to that of a classic regional airline. The owners are not building a lowcoster, but rather an in-house regional carrier. This can also be seen with a look at the ticket prices. If successful, the route network from Bolzano will be expanded nationally and internationally.

Initially, the DHC Dash 8-400 with the registration 9H-BEL will be used. This machine is expected to be transferred from Luqa to Bolzano on Friday. The second machine will follow in the next few weeks with the addition of further destinations.
