Brazil gives Boeing 737-Max the green light

The Civil Aviation Authority of Brazil, ANAC, re-approved the Boeing 737 Max aircraft on Wednesday. The sample has been extensively checked and it has been concluded that it can be used again commercially.

The Brazilians are following the decisions of the US FAA and the European EASA. A few more weeks will pass before it can actually be used again, as both the operator and the manufacturer still have to implement a number of requirements. American Airlines intends to put the model back into commercial service towards the end of the year. Competitor Southwest is still cautious and points out that the necessary pilot training alone will take weeks and months to complete.

In Brazil, Boeing's crisis jet cannot be expected to be in the air again immediately, as training courses and adaptations have to be carried out here as well. In Europe, the Max machines can be used from mid-January 2021 at the earliest. The four-week period for objections to the airworthiness directive issued by EASA is currently running.
