The financially troubled low-cost airline Flyr has found a new managing director in Brede Huser. Wikstrøm Frislid, who has managed the company from its inception, has resigned and is leaving the carrier.
Huser previously served as Flyr's Chief Financial Officer. “Tonje has done an impressive job of building a culture that puts customers and employees first and creating a popular and well-known brand. I would like to thank Tonje for her invaluable contribution to Flyr and wish her the best of luck in her future endeavors,” said Erik G. Braathen, Chairman of Flyr.
The low-cost airline is now in a new phase, so it is time that responsibility is passed on, Tonje Wikstrøm Frislid said in a media statement. The outgoing airline boss is also convinced that there is considerable market demand for the Flyr business model.
“It has been inspiring and rewarding to work with Tonje and we will continue to maintain our good culture and friendly service in the future. I look forward to working with the rest of the management team and everyone else at Flyr to build the airline of the future," said CEO Brede Huser, who will serve as both CEO and CFO at the Norwegian low-cost carrier. In the past he has worked at Norwegian Air Shuttle and Ernst & Young, among others.
