The Bulgarian charter airline Electra Airways carried out the maiden flight between Varna and Bremen on Monday on behalf of Voyage Air. The LZ-EAA, an almost 27-year-old Airbus A320, was used.

Voyage Air tried to get into the air for many years, but always failed. This year, however, the situation is different, because the Bulgarian authorities granted the coveted AOC and the operating license. The reason why the first flight between Varna and Bremen was carried out by a wet lease operator on behalf of the Bulgarian airline was not disclosed.

In summer 2020, the plan is to connect various German cities, including Stuttgart, Düsseldorf, Münster / Osnabrück, Frankfurt and Bremen with Varna. A weekly round trip to Vienna is also planned from August 2020. The connections planned from Burgas can no longer be booked.

The airline Voyage Air is based in Varna, Bulgaria and currently has a Boeing 737-500 that is around 28,4 years old. The carrier uses the abbreviation VRG as the ICAO code. The IATA two-letter code is VO. This was previously used by VLM Slovenija and Tyrolean Airways.
