Brussels Airport becomes the hub of the vaccine, as the airport has numerous refrigerated containers for transport. The first Covid flights have now taken place - with success.
The world's very first flight with corona vaccines left the airport on November 27th. Since then, seven planes have already taken off with the vaccine in their luggage to distribute the vaccine doses to Europe and around the world. “After months of preparation together with our freight partners, we are proud that the first flights with Covid vaccines went very smoothly. Brussels Airport has many years of experience in the transport of temperature-sensitive products. We are delighted to be making our contribution to solving this global health crisis, ”said Arnaud Feist, CEO of Brussels Airport.
