The EU Commission gives the green light for further financial aid for the badly ailing Alitalia. The government is once again taking the company under its wings. This time with 73 million euros.

The payment of the sum mentioned is made as compensation for the loss of sales that occurred between mid-June and the end of October 2020 on around 20 routes. Like many other airlines, Alitalia was able to earn significantly less money due to the entry and quarantine regulations.

Should be in a few months Italia Trasporto Aereo stand out as the successor company. The new carrier is significantly reduced in size. The Italian state only transferred around 2020 million euros to Alitalia in September 200. These were intended as compensation for the period between March and mid-June 2020.
