Brunner welcomes Green Pass agreement

Austria's State Secretary for Aviation Magnus Brunner (ÖVP) is of the opinion that the “green entry pass” will develop into the “green passport” and thus return freedom of travel. The background to this is that an agreement on the modalities was reached at EU level.

“The Green Pass is coming all over Europe, so further travel facilitation is in sight. This is how the green entry pass becomes a green passport, ”said the member of the government. “The quarantine measures are gradually being relaxed, which is crucial for a strong summer season. We have promised that the Green Pass will be implemented quickly, and we will keep this promise ”.

From the beginning of June 2021, Austria will initially use the Green Pass nationally for access tests. Brunner assumes that it can be used as a travel document within the European Union from the end of June 2021. Just in time for the summer, EU countries and the EU Parliament have agreed on a Europe-wide Corona certificate as proof of tested / vaccinated / recovered.
