Lufthansa subsidiary Brussels Airlines also has to admit defeat against the corona virus. The carrier loses 182 million euros in the first 6 months despite the measures taken to reduce costs. Income in the first half of 2020 was also 252 percent below the previous year's level at 63 million euros (2019: 684 million euros). 

In addition, 67 percent fewer passengers were welcomed on board between January and June. During this period, the Belgian airline managed to get by on less money. The total expenditure is 463 million euros, 39 percent below the previous year's figure (2019: 757 million euros). A business forecast for the next few months cannot be given due to the current dynamic market situation.
