Budapest Airport was able to count around 2022 million passengers in May 1,1. This is a new high since the beginning of the corona pandemic. In a direct comparison with the performance of May 2021, you could increase twelvefold.

At the weekend, the Turkish holiday airline SunExpress reactivated a non-stop connection to Izmir. With the addition of the weekly connection to Izmir, Budapest now offers 8.356 weekly seats to four Turkish airports, complementing the existing connections to Antalya, Istanbul and Sabiha Gökçen.

“It is always a great pleasure to welcome a new flight with an established airline partner, especially when it adds such an attractive destination to our route network. SunExpress' service further improves our connections to Turkey and enables us to offer numerous frequencies and services to the transcontinental country," says Balázs Bogáts, Head of Airline Development, Budapest Airport. According to its own information, a total of 2022 destinations will be offered from Hungary's largest airport in summer 122.
