At the weekend, the Polish Ryanair subsidiary Buzz opened the summer season in Burgas, Bulgaria. The airport had previously extensively renovated the runway. The "Comeback" flight has landed from Warsaw-Modlin.
Burgas and Varna airports are operated by Fraport Twin Star. On Saturday, Buzz landed on the newly renovated Burgas runway on behalf of Ryanair and, according to the airport, opened the 2022 tourist season. The passengers were surprised with symbolic gifts and a spectacular water spray. From April 09.04.2022th, 2021, the airline will start its summer flight program with twice as many flights as in XNUMX and serve seven destinations. These are London-Luton, Gdansk, Kraków, Warsaw, Vienna, Budapest and Bratislava.
Competitor Wizz Air has a seasonal base in Burgas. 18 routes are offered, with four new routes being added this year. Poland is expected to be the most important market for Burgas Airport this year as well, as charter and scheduled flights to/from ten Polish destinations are planned. EasyJet is expanding its flight program to Burgas Airport with another route - from 01.07.2022 to/from Manchester, Great Britain.
In addition, three new destinations will be opened in Romania: The Bulgarian airline GullivAir will be offering direct scheduled flights to and from Bucharest for the first time from June 16.06.2022, 01.06.2022. The Danish airline Jettime offers direct charter flights to three Scandinavian destinations from 22.06.2022 - Copenhagen and Billund in Denmark and Helsinki in Finland. Lithuanian airline Heston Airlines is also new at the airport. It is planned to operate charter flights from/to Tel Aviv, Israel.
Scheduled flights from/to Sofia will again be offered this year: With GullivAir – they are increasing their flight frequency in the summer and will be flying daily. Bulgaria Air has announced between three and eight flights per week from 17.06.2022/XNUMX/XNUMX.
