The Austrian Army's Hörsching Air Base is under new management: in the presence of Defense Minister Klaudia Tanner (ÖVP), Colonel Klecatsky handed over command to Brigadier Luttenberger.

In his speech, the new commander emphasized the good reputation of the association at home and abroad for the professional fulfillment of its tasks. For the future, he called for four characteristics to be observed: "Always ready for action, future-oriented, exemplary and professional."

Brigadier Luttenberger was most recently deputy head of the "Fachstabes Luft" (air) of the Armed Forces Command, is a helicopter pilot, completed the General Staff course at the National Defense Academy in Vienna and later the "US Air War College" in Montgomery/Alabama. Luttenberger was deployed several times in foreign missions in Kosovo and Bosnia and Herzegovina. The 57-year-old is married and has one daughter.

"I would like to thank Colonel Klecatsky for the prudent leadership and excellent command leadership. Important measures were taken, especially in the area of disaster control. I wish Brigadier Luttenberger all the best and every success in his new position! I am sure that the air support of the Federal Army will continue to ensure the safety of our population. Above all, he can apply the knowledge he has acquired over many years in a wide variety of training courses,” said Defense Minister Tanner.

In his speech, Brigadier Promberger thanked Colonel Klecatsky for his prudent leadership of the air support unit and cited the successful fight against the forest fire in Hirschwang an der Rax last year as an example. The new commander, Brigadier Luttenberger, brings to this task his flying experience from international missions and the expertise he has gained from his assignments in the air force. Promberger knew "the command that carries out the transport and air reconnaissance flights of the army is in good hands".

From the Vogler Air Base in Hörsching, the Air Support Command coordinates all transport and air reconnaissance flights of the Federal Army. The “Hercules” aircraft of the air transport squadron and the two squadrons of the Agusta Bell 212 transport helicopters are led directly by the command. The "Black Hawk" transport helicopters in Langenlebarn and the "Alouette" III helicopters in Aigen im Ennstal are also subordinated to the Air Support Command.
