In the previous year, staff were cut at some German airports. Some employees have given up their jobs because of the lower wages due to the short-time work and have reoriented themselves in other ways. At some airports this now leads to a lack of staff and irregularities in operations.

For example, in Düsseldorf you are extremely tight in some areas and therefore regularly make the headlines. Even Frankfurt-Hahn Airport confirmed that they are looking for additional employees. In terms of passenger numbers, this airport is significantly below the value for 2019.

Hahn can continue to grow in the cargo area and, according to its own account, is benefiting from the continued high demand in online mail order. Most recently, there was a double-digit increase to 23.338 tons. Compared to the June 2019 performance, this is almost doubled.
