The Maltese start-up Titan Airways Malta applied to the US transport authority DOT for the granting of traffic rights. The offshoot of the British airline intends to enter the freight business between Europe and the USA.

Titan Airways founded a subsidiary in the EU area relatively late due to the Brexit. It was decided to go to Malta. With the offshoot, both passenger and cargo flights are to be carried out in the EU area. CH-Aviation.com now reports that entry into the transatlantic cargo business is also intended. For this reason, an application has been made to the DOT for the necessary approval.

Titan Airways Malta’s fleet currently consists of an Airbus A321 with the registration 9H-ZTA. Two more machines are to be transferred from the parent company to the subsidiary shortly. The fleet of an A330 freighter is also planned. According to CH-Aviation.com, this is the current EI-GTT, which is being converted into a freighter by Elbe Flugzeugwerke.
