Nuremberg Airport (Albrecht Dürer Airport) is preparing for a massive increase in air traffic during the Bavarian Christmas holidays. From December 19, 2025, to January 6, 2026, the airport company forecasts approximately 162.800 passengers. Nuremberg Airport anticipates high passenger volume during the Bavarian autumn holidays. Up to 140.000 passengers are expected, with around 950 scheduled takeoffs and landings. Nuremberg Airport, in cooperation with the Bavarian State Forests, Nuremberg Forestry Operations, will carry out felling measures along the airport fence in the Nuremberg Reichswald forest this autumn. Nine months after the launch of the direct train connection between Nuremberg and Munich Airport, the operators are drawing a positive conclusion. The so-called Interregional Airport Express (ÜFEX), which runs every two hours without transfers to the terminal, recorded a significant increase in passenger demand.
