The long-established Sylt airline Sylt Air has new owners as of January 1, 2025: The charter airline Padaviation from Paderborn has taken over the company. As Padaviation boss Christiane Wittland confirmed, the name Sylt Air will remain. The flights will in future be operated under the name "Sylt Air operated by PAD Aviation".

Paderborn/Lippstadt Airport: SunExpress as leading airline partner

In the 2024 financial year, Paderborn/Lippstadt Airport was able to successfully expand its partnerships with several airlines. SunExpress achieved a market share of 185.000 percent with around 22 passengers, making it the largest airline at the location. Eurowings, Ryanair, Freebird Europe and Lufthansa also recorded over 100.000 passengers. Connections to Spain were particularly popular.

Paderborn Airport expects 60.000 passengers during the 2024 autumn holidays

Paderborn/Lippstadt Airport is expecting around 60.000 passengers for the upcoming autumn holidays in North Rhine-Westphalia. This represents a slight increase compared to the previous year, when 57.506 passengers were counted.
