HAM: More than a million passengers in the first half of the year

Almost 1,1 million travelers used Hamburg Airport in the first half of the year. That corresponds to about an eighth of the number of passengers in the first half of the pre-Corona year of 2019. At that time, the airport recorded around 8,24 million passengers. "In the first few months, traffic at Hamburg Airport recovered only slowly," reported Germany's fifth-largest airport. Just Us Air is said to fly with A321 for Green Airlines

The Romanian airline Just Us Air had its license reactivated a few days ago. The carrier now flies with the Airbus A319 with the registration YR-URS on behalf of Blue Air. According to Romanian media, this type of aircraft is not available for the German charter company Green Airlines. Instead, Just Us Air is to operate charter flights for Green Airlines from July 9, 2021 with the Airbus A321 with the registration YR-NTS. The Romanian carrier does not have any other aircraft, as the YR-DSI was returned to the lessor in the summer of last year. Contrary to the name, Green Airlines is not an airline, but a company that charters aircraft and markets the seats on its own account. It therefore does not maintain its own fleet and does not have an operating license or AOC. A few days ago, it caused a stir because Just Us Air did not have any official approvals at the time of communication. The Romanian airline has regained the seat and, as mentioned, is already in the air on behalf of Blue Air. It remains to be seen whether the German charter operator Green Airlines will be able to profitably market the Airbus A321's capacity from Paderborn and Rostock. Greece introduces 3G proof on ferries

Since Monday, the use of ferries within Greece is only permitted upon presentation of a negative corona test. Alternatively, proof of full vaccination or recovery can be presented. The Ministry of Tourism plans to set up mobile testing centers at hotspots shortly. This measure is still being set up, but should soon be available in tourist-frequented locations. No information has yet been given on the possible costs for vacationers. To board one of the many ferries, antigen results (maximum 42 hours old) as well as PCR results (maximum 72 hours old) can be presented. Children under 12 are exempt from this requirement. Young people between 12 and 17 years of age are also allowed - unlike adults - to carry out antigen self-tests. The Greek government wants to use this measure to contain the spread of the Delta variant. Most recently, a few cases were detected on the island of Crete.

Ryanair and Easyjet want to keep mask requirements on board

Prime Minister Boris Johnson is putting an end to the mask requirement in Great Britain. But this has not affected Ryanair and Easyjet: The airlines previously stated that they would stick to mouth and nose protection even if wearing them in public was no longer compulsory. The regulation requiring a mask will be dropped on July 19 - just like all other CoV measures. But while it seems like every UK citizen is singing its praises, the airlines are not letting up on the brakes and are urging caution. The Irish airline announced on Monday that maintaining the requirement on board is to protect the health of passengers and staff. Easyjet has similar motives. The carrier added: "There are currently no changes to the policy on wearing masks on board. We have full confidence in our medical department." Latam plans to sell nine Boeing 767-300ERs

The Latam Airlines Group wants to sell a total of nine Boeing 767-300ERs to Jetran. The aircraft are currently registered with the Brazilian AOC. As the group is in bankruptcy proceedings in the United States, the approval of a New York court is required. A corresponding application has already been submitted. The aircraft affected are those with the registrations PT-MOA, PT-MOB, PT-MOC, PT-MOE, PT-MOF, PT-MSS, PT-MSW, PT-MSX and PT-MSZ. These aircraft were originally delivered to Lan and are equipped with General Electric engines. As the nine Boeing 767s are in financing, these must be released first. If the court approves, Latam will buy the aircraft and then sell them to Jetran. Air Asia Indonesia ceases scheduled flight operations

Startup Lalona wants to fly to Graz

The startup Lalona Air plans to start some routes from Düsseldorf in January 2022. From there, they also want to fly to Graz in Austria, which would put them in direct competition with Austrian Airlines. Green Pass: Now the app is also available for Android

A few days ago, the Ministry of Health, in cooperation with the Federal Computing Center, presented the app for the "Green Pass" - but only for Apple users. The application is now also available for the Android operating system. The delay for the Android version was due to the review process at Google, the Ministry of Health told APA today - the app was submitted on July 1st. The app should then soon be available not only via the direct link, but also via the search function in Google's "Playstore". No storage in the cloud The data is only stored offline by the application - i.e. only on the end user's cell phone. The EU-compliant certificate is shown in a simplified version in the app: only essential information is then displayed, such as first name, last name, Covid-19 vaccine and the EU-compliant QR code. According to the Ministry of Health, the data is not stored in a cloud.
