On behalf of the tour operator Itaka, Getjet Airlines will operate charter flights between Vilnius and Mombasa. According to the company, it is the first of its kind, as there were previously no non-stop flights between Lithuania and Kenya.

“We have already gained considerable experience with charter flights. In the summer we transport travelers to popular summer destinations such as Turkey and Greece and in the winter season to Egypt, Tenerife and for skiing to Salzburg, Austria. The new partnership expands our flight geography with our aircraft landing in Marsa Alam, Egypt for the first time and flying travelers to exotic Kenya early next year. These flights are non-stop flights with only a short technical stopover in Hurghada, Egypt. We are pleased to be the first to fly Lithuanians more than 6.000 km directly to Kenya,” explains Rūta Kulvinskaitė, CEO of GetJet Airlines.

For the first time, one of the largest tour operators in Central Europe has chosen a charter flight operator from the Baltics. According to Leonidas Močeņovs, CEO of ITAKA, the decisive factors for this decision were GetJet Airlines' experience in operating charter flights and the quality of the services provided. The tour operator ITAKA, together with GetJet Airlines, will open the winter season with flights to Marsa Alam at the end of October. Five direct flights to Kenya are planned for early 2024, and GetJet Airlines will carry passengers to exotic Madeira in the spring.

“Direct flights to Kenya take up to 11 hours, which represents a major challenge for flight planners, pilots and flight attendants. That's why we chose our flight partner very responsibly. The decision to choose GetJet Airlines was based on their many years of experience, their undeniable professionalism and their reliability. We are excited about the new partnership, which we believe will continue to develop and allow us to delight Lithuanian travelers with even more unique destinations in the future,” said Močeņovsas.
