In the future, Russian airlines should be able to obtain spare parts for the western aircraft from the People's Republic of China. Chinese Ambassador to Russia Zhang Hanhui told TASS that it is ready to ship the requested spare parts to the Russian Federation.

The diplomat also said that a corresponding cooperation is currently being set up and that numerous airlines are already exploring the possibility of purchasing spare parts from China. There would be "no restrictions" on the part of the People's Republic.

As part of Western sanctions in response to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the European Union and the United States have banned the sale and supply of Western-made aircraft and spare parts to Russian airlines, as well as the insurance or reinsurance of Russian-operated aircraft and their repairs forbidden. Since then, Moscow has allowed airlines to continue operating aircraft leased from foreign companies, most of which have since been transferred to the local register.
