On the occasion of the 25-year city twinning with Antalya, Nuremberg Airport dedicated a passenger staircase to the cooperation. In 1997, the year the city partnership was founded, 152.000 passengers flew between Antalya and Nuremberg.

This value has almost tripled to date. Every summer, passengers depart for Antalya many times a day to enjoy their beach vacations or to visit family and friends. This year more than 400.000 passengers are expected on this route alone. This makes Antalya the second most important destination for Nuremberg Airport (after Palma de Mallorca). Airport Managing Director Michael Hupe: “Travel broadens horizons and brings people and business together. The town twinning forms a bridge to other regions and cultures. As an airport, we help to promote exchanges between Antalya and Nuremberg.”

In the last summer schedule of 2022, the route was served by six airlines (SunExpress, Corendon Airlines, Pegasus Airlines, Turkish Airlines, Freebird and Tailwind Airlines), with up to twelve daily departures to Antalya on peak days. An extensive offer with up to 50 departures per week in the high season is also expected for the next summer season.
