The insolvent Cityjet has to cut numerous employees. The carrier is currently only active as a pure ACMI provider. The own route network was given up some time ago.

Cityjet needs to pull the rip cord: the carrier is reportedly planning to lay off up to 276 employees in Ireland and the UK and another 400 to 450 in various European cities. You have to react to the new market situation and therefore minimize costs.

“Cityjet has hundreds of committed people with exceptional skills. It is therefore extremely unfortunate that we must prepare now to forego the skills of so many of our loyal colleagues. Our goal is to get Cityjet through this unique crisis as best we can, so that we can take off in the future ”.

Chairman of the Board Pat Bryne

Before the crisis the company had 1.175 employees, around 410 of whom work in Dublin. As early as March, the airline felt the effects of the Corona crisis, how ch-aviation.com reported. Four contract partners terminated their contracts, giving the airline a financial slap in the face.
