Climate stickers have blocked the highway access to BER

Advertising

The self-proclaimed "climate savers" blocked access to Beerlin-Brandenburg Airport on Friday morning. Some people got stuck on the freeway just before the exit to the airport. There was a long traffic jam and it is said that numerous people missed their flights from BER.

Again and again, the "climate stickers" cause a stir, because their actions are usually not announced and cause traffic chaos. One person recently died because emergency services could not arrive in time because of the glue. A representative of the group "Last Generation" commented on social media downright condescending about the death.

The actions of the "climate stickers" are extremely controversial, as they are financed by numerous media from dubious sources. In some cases, there are even supposed to be jobs including social insurance as “professional activists”. The actions cause annoyance in many cities in Germany and Austria and are becoming more and more aggressive. Damage to property, for example in museums, should also occur.

Earlier this week, the self-proclaimed “climate savers” announced they intend to shut down airports. The start should have been made at BER, although access via the motorway was made much more difficult. Passengers could still reach the airport – for example by train or other roads. In any case, the latest action should have ensured that the airport operators will pay more attention to security, because the "last generation" almost always arrives completely unannounced.
