The Austrian climate ticket is not valid on the City Airport Train, which runs between Vienna Airport and Wien-Mitte Landstrasse station. From June 1, 2022, you should get at least a 50 percent discount.

The private railway is a joint venture between the Austrian Federal Railways and Flughafen Wien AG. You are not a member of the Verkehrsverbund Ostregion and for this reason, among other things, are not included in the climate ticket. Also those of Blaguss Reisen and Dr. Richard carried out domestic long-distance bus services under the Flixbus brand not part of the climate ticket.

“With this offer, the City Airport Train not only makes a contribution to sustainable travel planning, but also responds to the lively demand from its passengers. We are proud to be able to support climate protection in this way and to be able to offer this reduction to all holders of the climate ticket,” say CAT managing directors Christoph Korherr and Michael Forstner.

Furthermore, holders of Annual ticket for Wiener Linien and the ÖBB Vorteilscard a price reduction of 50 percent for the CAT. In the course of the ticket inspection, the two aforementioned cards or the climate ticket must be presented together with the City Airport Train ticket.
