The airlines Batik Air and Emirates will work together in the future as part of a codeshare agreement. This enables customers of the golf carrier to reach three, five domestic and three regional destinations via Kula Lumpur.

“We are excited about the partnership, which has the potential to strengthen Malaysia’s role as a key gateway to the region. We hope to see an increase in KLIA traffic, particularly to facilitate connectivity to regional destinations,” said Malaysian Transport Minister Tuan Anthony.

Emirates customers also have the option of making a stopover in Kuala Lumpur before continuing on to their final destinations. In addition, the airline will gain access to eight additional destinations served by Batik Air via Kuala Lumpur to enable interline transfer.
