The Bulgarian charter airline Holiday Europe should become the door opener for the Turkish Onur Air to the EU market. They wanted to expand the branch, but everything turned out completely differently, because the provider from Turkey is broke. This also had an impact on the Bulgarian offshoot.
The Civil Aviation Authority had revoked Holiday Europe's operating license. As a result, commercial flights were no longer allowed to operate. Since there were close ties with Onur Air, the Bulgarian company had to do a lot to be able to break away. This includes the fleet.
The measures taken by the Bulgarian majority owner have obviously been successful, as Holiday Europe has regained the coveted operating licence, which is required in addition to the AOC in order to be able to operate commercial flights. The company will continue to focus on providing ACMI and charter services. Nothing is known about possible customers yet, but they want to be active again, especially in the 2023 summer flight schedule, and it can be assumed that management will try to "warm up" contacts with tour operators for whom they have flown in the past.
