DHL parcels are currently more lucrative for Condor than passengers. The holiday airline will fly with four Boeing 2021s on behalf of Deutsche Post DHL until at least the end of May 767. The first flights have already been carried out.
According to Condor, the machines will be used from Leipzig / Halle towards Shannon, Milan-Malpensa and Cologne. These are actually passenger planes, but since April 2020 some copies have been converted to temporary freighters.
“We already carried out more cargo flights last year and expanded our expertise here. We are very pleased to now work with such an experienced partner as DHL Express, ”explains Christian Schmitt, member of the management.
The holiday airline relied on freight instead of passengers early on. At peak times, 14 of the 16 Boeing 767s were in use as “pre-fighters”. Other airlines, including Austrian Airlines, have also removed seats from their planes in order to be able to transport cargo. What an "AUA-Preighter" looks like under this link.
