Condor takes on Yerevan and postpones long-haul routes

The German holiday airline intends to start a non-stop connection between Hamburg and Yerevan. The first flight is scheduled to take place on July 30, 2021. The connection is to be operated at night on Friday night.

“With the start of direct flights to Yerevan this year, Condor is consistently continuing its strategy of enabling holidays with family and friends away from the big, established bathing destinations. Given the experience from the pandemic, direct flights are particularly popular with our customers, ”says Ralf Teckentrup, CEO of Condor. "But anyone who, after the lockdown, would like to experience the overwhelming nature of the Caucasus, the country's historical sites or even just the hospitality in Yerevan, can now comfortably reach their destination without having to change trains."

Numerous long haul destinations postponed

From the beginning of July, Condor will also be flying from Düsseldorf to the Lebanese capital Beirut and to Sulaimaniyya in the autonomous region of Kurdistan in Iraq. In the long-haul area, however, there are delays. The Phoenix destination was taken out of sale for the summer of 2021, but three flights per week can again be booked from May 21, 2022.

Portland as well as Toronto, Vancouver, Halifax, Whitehorse and other destinations in North America will also not be reactivated until next year according to the current flight schedule data. The destination Las Vegas McCarran International has meanwhile been postponed to the winter flight schedule 2021/22. In all cases, the background is likely to be the still complicated entry and quarantine regulations.
