In the 2022 summer timetable, the German holiday airline will return to Vienna-Schwechat Airport after an absence of several years. The comeback does not take place on long-haul routes but on four tourist routes.
Condor will fly three times a week to Heraklion, twice a week to Kos, four times a week to Palma de Mallorca and twice a week to Rhodes. On almost all routes, there is tough competition with other providers, including Ryanair, Wizz Air and Austrian Airlines.
In this regard, Condor is relaxed and points out that the individual airlines are pursuing different business models. It is considered good to have several providers on the routes, as this would give passengers and tour operators more choices. Cooperation has already been concluded with Tour Operations on the routes planned for Vienna and ticket contingents have been sold to them.
When asked about the current booking situation for the routes offered from Austria, a spokeswoman told Aviation.Direct: “Demand has risen sharply in recent days, especially for Easter and summer. The number of bookings in Vienna is good and we sense that people just want to get out on vacation”.
