Construction work leads to timetable changes to Düsseldorf Airport

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

From February 28 to April 25, 2025, travelers on the route between Essen and Dortmund must expect significant timetable changes and delays. The reason for the restrictions is construction work on the route, which will lead to a line closure. Bochum Central Station is particularly affected, as it will not be served during the eight-week construction phase.

Deutsche Bahn has already taken numerous measures to divert long-distance and regional traffic. Trains are being diverted between Essen and Dortmund, but also between Essen and Münster and Cologne and Dortmund. Stops with reduced train services will also be set up in the cities of Düsseldorf Airport, Dortmund Central Station, Essen Central Station and Duisburg Central Station.

Passengers should be prepared for journey times to be extended by up to 20 minutes. In addition, departure and arrival times will be changed. Travelers should check the updated timetables in advance to avoid unnecessary delays.
