Gulf carrier Emirates Airline is reducing capacity on the Dubai-Vienna route effective August 1, 2022. Those rotations that are currently served with Airbus A380 will be flown with Boeing 777-300ER in the future.

As a result, Vienna-Schwechat Airport will once again lose the super jumbo as a regular passenger. The available flight plan data shows that Emirates will not change the number of weekly rotations.

Since the capacity of the twin-engine Boeing 777-300ER is lower than that of the four-engine Airbus A380, fewer seats will be available from August 2022. The offer between Vienna and Dubai is thus reduced. Depending on the aircraft, Emirates has fitted the Boeing 777-300ER with between 354 and 428 seats. The A380 fleet varies between 484 and 615 seats.
