Corendon Dutch Airlines intends to wet-lease an Airbus A2023 long-haul aircraft from November 350. This will serve flights between Amsterdam-Schiphol and Curaçao. Until now, the tour operator division bought the capacities required for package tours from its competitor KLM.

That should change now, because according to the Dutch tour operator Corendon, there is a particularly high demand from hotels. You can no longer get through with the capacities purchased from KLM alone. For this reason, they want to set up their own flights via the sister company Corendon Dutch Airlines.

However, the airline mentioned has no widebodies. This leads to another airline coming into play. This is to take the A350 under wet lease. The Corendon Dutch Airlines fleet currently consists exclusively of Boeing 737 series aircraft. These are not suitable for non-stop flights to Curaçao, as the tour operator believes that doing so with refueling stops would mean that one cannot operate profitably.

Moments non-stop flights between Amsterdam-Schiphol and Curaçao were offered by KLM and Tuifly. In addition to Corendon Dutch Airlines, Surinam Airways is said to be interested in including the Paramaribo-Willemstad-Amsterdam route. However, final decisions have not yet been made.

Corendon Dutch Airlines does not want to say much about the A350 plans, except that they refer to a press conference on May 22, 2023, where there could possibly be an announcement. As such, the identity of the ACMI operator has not yet been announced. However, if it is an EU carrier, there are only a few options to consider anyway.
