With effect from December 14, 2022, the Chinese special administrative region has again slightly relaxed the entry regulations. People who tested negative for Covid-19 on arrival can now enter freely.

So far, you had to stick to the so-called “yellow health code”. This denied access to certain locations and events. Only recently it became known that a negative PCR test no longer has to be presented upon entry into Beijing. In the course of the corona pandemic so far, it has been shown that tests are occasionally carried out in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region before the rest of the People's Republic of China is taken over with a time delay.

However, the entry and quarantine regulations in Hong Kong are still stricter than in other countries. In the past, airlines were banned if more than five passengers tested positive for the corona virus. According to Hong Kong Health Minister Lo Chung-mau, arriving travelers should no longer be categorized as “yellow”. Among other things, this stipulated that you were not allowed to visit hotels, bars or events. However: the government's app, which can be used to prove vaccination status, is still required.

Even under this latest and most relaxed regulation, visitors to Hong Kong must present a negative COVID-19 test result upon arrival. Proof that you have been vaccinated against the corona virus three times must still be provided for access to restaurants and bars.
