Croatia Airlines can look forward to a financial injection: The Croatian government is shouldering the crisis in the form of a capital increase of 46 million euros. To this end, the state carrier will issue new shares, all of which will be bought by the state, which already has a 99 percent stake in the airline. In addition, a further 11,7 million euros should flow as direct aid.
This is intended to cover losses incurred, such as exyuaviation.com reported. The measures taken would also comply with antitrust regulations. The money should reach Croatia Airlines this year. The airline recorded a net loss of 32,1 million euros in the first nine months of the year, compared to a minus of 6,5 million euros in the same period last year. In the first three quarters, sales fell by 59 percent to 71,7 million euros.
