The Croatian government intends to renew the Croatia Airlines fleet by purchasing up to 15 brand new aircraft. These are to be obtained through leasing companies, reports the local daily Jutarnji.

The corresponding funds are to be made available via the so-called "Post-Covid Strategy". This has been decided in the cabinet, but has yet to go through the parliamentary route. The approval is not yet dry. In any case, it is intended that Croatia Airlines' fleet will be renewed within three years. The DHC Dash 8-400, which should continue to be operated, are not affected.

As reported the European aircraft manufacturer Airbus is competing for orders for the A220 model. To this end, a corresponding demonstration is being carried out in the Croatian capital with a model operated by Air Baltic. Croatia Airlines no longer wants to take delivery of four A320neos and is negotiating to withdraw from the contract. The aircraft manufacturer wants to offer the A220 instead and is hoping for a larger order.
