With effect from May 27, 2022, the shipping company Aida Cruises will abolish the obligation to wear masks on board its fleet. It is recommended that travelers continue to wear mouth and nose protection, but this is no longer explicitly required.

This follows the approach of other ship operators. However, only fully vaccinated people are allowed on board. This applies to all passengers aged 12 and over. Only the EU vaccination certificates are accepted as proof. All travelers from the age of three must also complete a rapid antigen test during embarkation.

Aida wants to enable passengers who have tested positive for the corona virus 14 days before departure to be able to rebook once free of charge. If there is an infection in the destination area, they want to cover the costs for a hotel quarantine and the return journey home.
