A new center bar has been opened at the D-Gates (Non-Schengen) at Vienna-Schwechat Airport. This bears the name "Zapfmeisterei" and offers, among other things, six types of beer on tap, chilled drinks, coffee and filled pretzels.

The new gastronomic offer will be operated by Lagardère Travel Retail in cooperation with the Ottakringer brewery. “International flights all over the world take off from the D-Gates. With the Zapfmeisterei and Ottakringer from Vienna, we offer travelers a traditional Austrian brand in a modern bar and a relaxed atmosphere in the middle of the departure area. We are thus expanding our range of local top brands at the location and are further expanding our good cooperation with Lagardère. A hearty "cheers" to all passengers who start their journey from Vienna Airport this summer," said Julian Jäger, CEO of Flughafen Wien AG.

The new bar is located in the D Gates area and is open daily between 5am and 00pm. The Zapfmeisterei offers six different Ottakringer beers, cool soft drinks through to freshly squeezed orange juice, coffee and snacks such as filled pretzels. Lagardère Travel Retail is thus further expanding the range of services at the location and creating even more choice of restaurants at Vienna Airport.

“The Zapfmeisterei is a new concept that we are able to present together with Ottakringer. The cooperation with Vienna's traditional brewery creates new gastronomic opportunities for us and offers passengers even more choice within our offer at Vienna Airport. We look forward to welcoming many passengers with us in summer and would like to thank Vienna Airport and Ottakringer for the great cooperation in this project," explains Ursula Fürnhammer, CEO of Lagardère Travel Retail Austria.

“Vienna Airport is the perfect calling card for our carefully brewed Ottakringer beer. With the Zapfmeisterei, together with Lagardère, we can contribute to relaxed waiting times at Vienna Airport. We are pleased to be able to offer our excellent beer creations, which are well-known both in Austria and internationally, to many travelers from all over the world,” adds Harald Mayer, Ottakringer Brewery Managing Director.
