Danes are now advised not to travel abroad due to concerns about mutated variants of the corona virus and the corona situation worldwide. Even business trips are prohibited until further notice.

Foreign Minister Jeppe Kofod announced this at a press conference in Copenhagen. The message is clear: no citizen should leave the Scandinavian country. Foreign guests are still supposed to enter. This extends the travel restrictions again. Only people with a valid reason and a negative corona test that is no more than 24 hours old would be allowed into the country, reports fvw.de. Visits from close relatives, for example, are valid reasons. A degree or an au pair stay, however, would no longer be enough to be allowed into the country. Exceptions should apply to residents of the border regions in Germany and Sweden as well as goods transport and transit traffic.

The tightened corona measures will initially apply in Denmark until January 17th. The next time will be decisive in reducing the spread of the infection, it is said from government circles. Ultimately, they are particularly concerned that more contagious virus variants are being introduced into Denmark. The corona mutation, which first appeared in England, has already been detected a few dozen times in the country.
