On May 23, 2023 Air Greenland's only Airbus A330neo was damaged at Copenhagen-Kastrup Airport. There was an unwelcome contact with an SAS machine on the wing. Due to the temporary failure of OY-GKN, Air Greenland had to resort to wet lease services from other carriers.

In December 2022, Air Greenland took delivery of its first and only Airbus A330-800 and put it into scheduled service. After a short transition phase, the predecessor, an A330-200, was phased out. Since the fleet otherwise consists of de Havilland Dash 8-200 and Beech Super King Air turboprop aircraft and some helicopters, it was necessary to use the ACMI services of other providers to maintain the scheduled service between Kangerlussuaq and Copenhagen.

For example, Privelige Stile helped out with a Boeing 777-200ER. Jettime and Hifly machines were also used. Air Greenland announced that it will temporarily lease two Boeing 737s from the Danish airline. For the summer of 2023, a B737-800 from the provider mentioned will be used anyway. In recent months, there has been a striking number of collisions on the apron at Copenhagen Kastrup Airport. Fortunately, apart from property damage, nothing happened. A noteworthy "encounter" is also the damage to a Boeing 787-9 operated by Tuifly Nordic paired with a Sunclass A330-900.
